My Role
Lead Interactive Designer
VisitLEX reimagines the visitor center as an immersive storytelling hub, welcoming travelers into the heart of Lexington while reflecting the city’s identity as both rooted in tradition and shaped by innovation. Housed in a renovated historic building downtown, the space was designed as an open, flexible environment where visitors could relax, recharge, and connect with the city through layered narratives, artifacts, and media.
As Lead Interactive Designer, I was responsible for shaping the visitor journey across all digital touchpoints. Working closely with architects, curators, and media teams, I helped craft a cohesive spatial narrative that integrated interpretive graphics, modular displays, and interactive media to engage a younger, more diverse audience.
A key focus was developing a digital engagement strategy seamlessly embedded within the physical environment. Highlights included a touch-based experience with local facts, a nine-screen media wall capturing Lexington’s culture and energy, and a customizable digital postcard station for visitors to share their journeys. Each activation was designed to be intuitive, participatory, and connected to the broader visitor flow, reinforcing the center as a flexible, welcoming system rooted in hospitality.
